The Y Combinator Summer 2016 program had startups from all over the world sign up for an opportunity to get funded and also get mentored. Seeing that about 30% of the startups funded after the Summer 2016 batch were based outside the US, the Y Combinator team will be in visiting 11 countries in September to meet with founders.

With Nigerian startups like ShypmatePaystack, Tress and Iyin Aboyeji's Flutterwave all making it into Y Combinator's program this year, it is very clear why Y Combinator (YC) chose to visit Nigeria on this tour to countries outside the US.

The YC team is scheduled to be in Nigeria late September.
