  • Carry1st, a consumer payment provider, has announced a partnership with Audiomack, a music streaming platform, to expand its localised payment solutions into Africa’s music streaming sector.
  • The collaboration will take advantage of Carry1st’s local payment methods, which include mobile money, digital wallets, and bank transfers. This will be available to Audiomack users who purchase subscriptions on the platform.

The two platforms intend to introduce dependable and rewarding payment solutions that will provide more value with each purchase by combining its fintech network with Audiomack’s streaming capabilities.

Maximising the launch of this partnership, customers will enjoy a 10% discount on all subscription passes, enabling a more exceptional experience for users.

Users can complete these subscriptions daily, weekly or monthly via the Carry1st shop, now present in local currencies across about 12 African countries.

Audiomack music fans can now gain access to premium features, remove advertisements, and unlock limited downloads from their favourite artists. The launch will also provide users with high-quality streaming and downloadable playlists.

Carry1st, known for its mobile games and digital content, has a strong presence in Africa’s key gaming markets, such as Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia.

For the company, this partnership goes beyond gaming; it aims to revolutionise music streaming payments across Africa.

Carry1st hosted the Carry1st Africa Cup — A Call of Duty: Mobile Tournament — earlier this year, marking a watershed moment for the continent’s eSports scene. The event, held in Nigeria, featured players from Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa competing for a $15,000 prize.

In January 2024, Sony partnered with the gaming content platform as its first investment in Africa. In 2023, the digital content company secured $27 million in a series B round and $6 million in 2021.

Approximately 50 million people in Africa’s young and rapidly growing region use music streaming platforms. By expanding this secure payment solution, Audiomack could strengthen its artist-first and audio-discovery by allowing creators to monetise their shared music and podcast content on the platform.
