Morainbow Down Syndrome Foundation, a non-profit organization (CAC/IT/NO/79514), proudly celebrates a decade of unwavering commitment to empowering, educating, and enriching the lives of persons with Down Syndrome and beyond. As the first and only early intervention program center for persons with Down Syndrome in Nigeria, Morainbow has been a beacon of hope and progress, closing gaps in education and fostering inclusivity.

A Decade of Dedication:

Established in 2012, Morainbow Down Syndrome Foundation has spent the last ten years dedicated to improving the lives of persons with Down Syndrome and other neuro-diverse conditions. The organization began its journey with home visitations in 2014, evolving into a comprehensive early intervention program that addresses the unique needs of individuals with Down Syndrome.

Mission and Vision:

Morainbow's mission is to improve the lives of persons with Down Syndrome in health, education, and vocation, particularly from low-income communities. The foundation envisions a world where persons with Down Syndrome can live life to the fullest.

Comprehensive Services:

The foundation offers a range of services to fulfill its mission, including educational and learning support, therapeutic interventions, skill acquisition training programs, and music/dance sessions. These services aim to provide holistic support and create an inclusive environment for neuro-diverse individuals.

Notable Achievements:

Morainbow Down Syndrome Foundation has achieved significant milestones, including successfully fundraising for five heart surgeries. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the foundation thrived by reaching out virtually to participants from 33 locations nationwide during its virtual Dress Up, Mess Up (4.0) event. The foundation also expanded its physical space from a three-bedroom apartment to a nine-bedroom apartment in September 2021.

Vision for the Future:

Morainbow's vision for the future includes plans for a building to accommodate more learners with in-house boarding facilities, increased funding to augment staff salaries, the establishment of a Down Syndrome mobile clinic to reach grassroots locations, and collaboration with more schools in Lagos to replicate their services.
