Techpoint Pitch Friday is hosted in partnership with the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law.
There's a general consensus — at least among entrepreneurs — that building a business is hard. To be honest, I get it. There's no guarantee of success, and if the data is any indication, you're more likely to fail than succeed. But what if there was an opportunity to present your startup to a receptive audience, gain valuable feedback, and build vital relationships at the same time?
Introducing Pitch Friday, a monthly pitch event for early-stage startup founders. Read on for a few highlights and what you can expect.
Details at a glance
Date: Friday, November 10, 2023.
Time: 3 pm
Venue: Zone Tech Park, Gbagada.
Who is Pitch Friday for?
This is probably bad marketing practice, but Pitch Friday is for everyone who has an interest in startups. Aspiring startup founder looking for input into their idea? We've got you. Just launched and are looking for feedback or partnerships? We've got you. Startup enthusiast looking to connect with like-minded folks? We've got you. Investor looking for potential investments? We've got you.
Startup pitches
As the name indicates, startup pitches are a staple of Pitch Friday. Selected founders get to share their ideas and products with an audience and receive feedback on the spot. You don't have to wait days to know if customers will love your product.
Questions from the audience
This is probably one of the most important benefits of pitching at Pitch Friday. We have an engaged audience that is always willing to ask questions and make contributions to all the startup pitches. Actually, we don't always take all the questions because of the volume, but you get the gist. Come ready to provide more details about your product.

PS: Some people are nervous about pitching, but I can assure you, it's a harmless activity, and you'll get better as you do it.
Guided networking sessions
Last year, we tested a guided networking session. The idea was to make it easier for introverts or even extroverts to have meaningful conversations. At least two people reported striking a friendship as a result, so we're bringing it back. We understand how difficult networking can be, and we would love to help.
Extra benefits:
- Small chops. It's not a lot, but you'll not go hungry.
- Pictures: Some of you don't have pictures of yourself. Change your story this week.
How to participate
Participation is free, well, except for your transportation to and from the venue. Depending on where you fall, you can send your pitch or register to attend here. Registration helps us plan better and ensures we get enough small chops for everyone.
So whether you're looking to gain some exposure for your startup or want to meet exciting individuals, Pitch Friday provides all that. See you there!
