Africa Fintech Foundry is a pan-African initiative focused on creating new opportunities in Africa by providing a platform designed to inspire and challenge African innovators and entrepreneurs. Its goal is to provide value for the technology startup ecosystem and beyond by providing thought leadership, accelerating startups, developing innovative technology products, and providing an atmosphere for stakeholders to innovate and deliver value.

This summer, AFF will be launching a digital academy to empower women in tech. The academy will equip up to 50 women with knowledge in key programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and lots more. Participants will also be equipped with soft managerial and business skills to help catapult them to the top of their chosen fields.

In line with the academy’s aim to drive inclusion for women in tech, it will also help participants secure paid internships and jobs.

Through the Women In Tech fireside chat, AFF hopes to lay the groundwork for the academy. The fireside chat which is themed “Women Powering Tech” will bring together industry leaders in tech and venture capital to shine a light on some of the ways women are already excelling in the tech ecosystem.
