Nosh was proud to serve as a Platinum Sponsor at the recently concluded Nigeria Fintech Forum 2026, held at The Civic Centre, Lagos. The event brought together leading voices in Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem to explore the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the industry. As a fintech platform offering gift card trading, crypto conversion, bill payments, and eSIM purchases across Nigeria and Ghana, Nosh joined the conversations shaping the future of financial services.

Representing the company were Tosin Akintibu, Product Manager, who delivered a keynote presentation on simplifying everyday spending, and Mosadoluwa Hezekiah, Marketing Manager, who joined a panel exploring how fintech companies are adapting their growth strategies in a maturing market.

Building products around how people actually spend

During her keynote, Akintibu explained that fintech products should be designed around real customer behaviour rather than an ever-growing list of features.

She highlighted how Nosh has expanded from helping users trade gift cards into a broader digital payments platform where users can convert cryptocurrency, pay local and international bills, and purchase eSIMs within a single experience.

According to her, the goal is not simply to add more services but to remove unnecessary steps from everyday financial transactions.

“The real gap in fintech isn’t getting people digital assets; it’s making those assets usable in daily life.”

“Our job is to remove friction, not add features for the sake of it. Every decision we make on the product side starts with one question: does this make spending simpler for our users?”, she added.

Retention is becoming the new growth strategy

During a panel discussion, Hezekiah shared his perspective on how growth priorities are changing across the fintech industry.

While customer acquisition remains important, he argued that long-term success increasingly depends on creating products customers continue to use over time.

Acquisition got us in the door, but sustainable growth means designing for retention and lifetime value from day one. We’re increasingly building campaigns and product touchpoints that convert first-time users into loyal, repeat users, because in this market, trust compounds.”

He also discussed how compliance should be communicated as part of a reliable customer experience rather than a regulatory obligation.

Customers don’t want to hear ‘compliance’ as a caveat; they want to feel it as reliability. We talk about security, licensing, and regulatory alignment as part of what makes Nosh a platform people can trust with their money.”

On the technology powering digital payments, Hezekiah noted that users rarely think about the infrastructure behind financial services unless something goes wrong.

“Customers don’t wake up thinking about our infrastructure. They notice when a transaction is instant, when a rate is fair, and when support actually helps.”

Engaging the fintech community

Alongside the conference sessions, Nosh welcomed attendees to its exhibition booth, where visitors interacted with the team, explored the platform’s services, and participated in raffle draws throughout the event.

Prizes included three MacBook Neos, four Redmi 15 devices, four Redmi Note 15 smartphones, as well as branded merchandise.

Speaking after the event, a Nosh spokesperson said:

We’re proud to support platforms like the Nigeria Fintech Forum because they bring together the people shaping the future of financial services. Beyond showcasing our products, these conversations help us better understand the challenges users and the wider ecosystem continue to face.”

As Africa’s fintech ecosystem continues to mature, discussions at Fintech Forum 2026 highlighted a growing industry consensus: the next phase of innovation will be defined less by the number of features companies build and more by how effectively those products solve every day financial problems.
