In a momentous event on November 20, 2023, Advantage Health Africa unveiled The Advantage, its newest solution, to drastically transform the country's healthcare landscape.
After two failed attempts to launch the solution — which has been in the works since 2018 — this launch demonstrates the startup's inventiveness, resilience, faith in the product, and the possibility of revolutionary advancements in healthcare services.
Among the speakers who took the stage to share their thoughts on the development process, Dr. Pamela Ajayi, President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, gave a noteworthy keynote address.
Keeping in mind the theme of the event, "Leveraging access to resources and technology to build an inclusive healthcare ecosystem," she discussed how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the healthcare sector and how consumers, startups, and the government should welcome this development.
Enter Advantage Health Africa (AHA)
Circa 2016, Founder and CEO of Advantage Health Africa, Abimbola Adebakin, found it challenging to access a colostomy bag. A pharmacist herself, she began to wonder how much harder it would be for people to get the exact prescriptions they needed. Thus, she founded the company in 2017.
Advantage Health Africa offers digital healthcare products and services to individuals and businesses, including consultation, drug delivery, and molecular diagnostic testing.
The startup promotes universal access to healthcare, believing everyone should have unrestricted access to high-quality medical care without regard for stress or financial constraints. Additionally, it ensures that patients receive timely and accurate results to make well-informed decisions regarding their care.
It also has a pharmacy core solution engine that can handle millions of products and connect D2C services for over a million users across 3,000 pharmacies.
Be the smartest in the room
Advantage Health Africa handles millions of dollars worth of merchandise. Even after completing more than thousands of deliveries in 33 states in Nigeria, the company remains dedicated to guaranteeing that everyone has access to first-rate medical care.
Advantage Health Africa provides customers access to authentic and reasonably priced medication while ensuring high-quality healthcare services by aggregating several pharmacies across Nigeria.

And now, the company has launched The Advantage.
Accelerating the Health Ecosystem with The Advantage.
Also known as The Accelerate with The Advantage, the solution will drive Access to market, operational success and interoperability in the healthcare system. This move marks a significant advancement in improving efficiency, accessibility, and overall patient care.
The Advantage is a user-friendly platform that assists pharmacists — even those with limited technological expertise — in managing their operations from procurement to aftersales.
The solution unifies pharmaceutical operations — procurement, logistics, inventory management, finance and control, people development, merchandising, sales and aftersales — onto a single platform.
It means that pharmacists can perform all their operations, including payments, without leaving the app. Registered pharmacists can use the platform to keep track of their sales, purchases, and inventories seamlessly.
The pharmacists keep a customer's medical record on the platform to consult with doctors when necessary.
Soon to be made available to users, the Playbook feature will provide health advice and remedies for over 100 common medical conditions by simply searching for them.
Advantage Health plans to collaborate with community pharmacists to expedite healthcare and promote access to a plethora of other healthcare opportunities.
The Advantage aims to accelerate pharmacy growth and operational success while serving multiple industry stakeholders.
It will provide pharmacy business intelligence support and access to markets, skills, consolidated data, and a more robust distribution network for the pharmacies within its network.
With The Advantage, the company plans to increase additional revenue for businesses in its network from ₦10 million to ₦100 million in two years.
