This week, a story by a Covenant University (CU) graduate on Twitter spread through Nigerian social media like wildfire.
In the long thread which was later deleted, the young man named Emmanuel Addoh recounted how he was wrongfully accused of breaking the university's by-laws and later expelled. He eventually sued the school to court and won the case. Read the full gist below.

We can’t deny the fact that Covenant University is a great school.
A lot of us got jobs based on CU.
Papa loved us all dearly.

One chapel service in Covenant University, Pastor said ‘Drop whatever might be hindering your faith and pray to God. He will heal you’.

One of the purest cruise in covenant, was when papa was angry during youth alive and said woe betide you if you sign for anyone and one guy came back to the hostel and told his friend he would have signed for him but he didn't know what woe betide you means.

For a timeline that is quick to call out abuse, I haven't seen anyone calling what covenant university does abuse. Covenant University is a wonderful case study on the dangers and insanity of a Christian theocracy
— Chu-Chu (@ChuChuIgbokwe) September 12, 2018
If everything I’ve read today about Covenant University is true, then the school admin. has gone beyond religious/academic discipline to severe abuse of human rights and outright abuse & molestation.
The NANS, NUC & the Ministry of Education should look into this urgently.

The battle for Lagos state
Drama in the Lagos state political scene as All Progressives Congress (APC) powerhouse Bola Tinubu endorsed Jide Sanyaolu for the upcoming 2019 gubernatorial elections.
We were all expecting that he'd support Governor Ambode for a second term.
https://twitter.com/seriousmatta/status/1039535379899146242
This man called it by the way;
On this handle I announced some weeks ago that Tinubu and Ambode are on war path but some Okpos doubted. Now you can see the game is up for Ambo. Next time, check the handle before you spew thrash!
— Jackson Ude (@jacksonpbn) September 11, 2018
Reactions
“Meeting is over. Ambode is out. Jide Sanyaolu Sanwonolu is the new governor of Lagos. All 57 local government chairman have signed his form. It’s over,” the source said.

Ambode I know how you can get back at Tinubu!
Just take down the toll gates and let it be like that Ajah one! Shebi you’re incumbent governor ?
We will vote you for third term sef

I woke up this morning to see handles that had previously supported Ambode, now castigating him & wanting him out.
What! What! Wetin dey happen? I read up & realized it seems their Oracle had spoken & shifted support to a new person. And of course, the educated sheeple must obey

PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket, he will run against Ambode in the forth coming election.

Femi Otedola should know security is a priority if he wants to win Lagos. The last time PDP presented a candidate with very real potential to snatch Lagos State from its landlord, that was Funsho Williams.

He went ahead to bribed a federal legislator and even made the audio available.

We know Beverly Osu can't try this with Hijab, but to be artistic enough, sometimes you need to go the extra mile to pass a message. I do not condemn her, rather I'm more concerned about the message she's trying to pass with this shoot. pic.twitter.com/QmYAJLINAh
