A few weeks back, we announced our plans to expand Techpoint’s coverage to Africa. The expansion meant all our platforms and events will accommodate startups from every part of the continent. Staying true to this, we will be debuting our in-house community event, Pitch Friday, in Ghana.
Every Pitch Friday, five selected individuals get the opportunity to talk about their startup. As Pitch Friday is not a competition, the audience gets to contribute by providing useful feedback to the startups.
Partnering with Techpoint to make Pitch Friday Ghana possible is Ghanaian-based digital media startup, OMG Digital.
OMG CEO and co-founder Jesse Arhin Ghansah will be our special guest.
With his OMGVoice brand, backed by the likes of Y-Combinator, he is able to target millennials in Africa through captivating content. For this reason is why OMGVoice brand has been referred to in some quarters as the ‘Buzzfeed of Africa’.
Accra, Ghana edition

Pitch Friday usually hold at the second Friday of every month. But Ghana’s edition is only holding on the first Friday of September because the regular Lagos, Nigeria edition comes up the week after.
Another core motivation for Pitch Friday in Ghana is that we’re using that opportunity to get people to apply for Techpoint Build.
