Café Scientifique Nigeria aims to improve scientific literacy in the Nigerian community by demystifying science through public engagements. As the nation needs to build capacity to diversify from a crude-oil dependent state and the world continues to explore new ways of scientific literacy by way of bridging the divide between science and society, Rouleaux Foundation hereby invites members of the public to Café Scientifique Nigeria, Lagos Cafe- a first in a series of casual scientific symposia that seeks to acquaint the public with the promise of science.

This maiden edition of the Café Scientifique Nigeria, Lagos Café has been scheduled to hold at

 Date: Saturday, 16th September 2017

Time: 10AM

Venue: Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHub) Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos

It is going to be in an atmosphere that affords both the learned and the lay the comfort needed for the discourse themed; Science Art, Religion and Underdevelopment in Africa: A Paradigm Shift. The speakers include; Mr Femi Odubiyi (Commissioner for Science and Technology, Lagos State Government),    Prof Oyewale Tomori (Former President of the Nigerian Academy of Science), Prof Mosto Onuoha (President of the Nigerian Academy of Science),  Mr Kunle Adewale (Executive Director, Tender Art Nigeria, the 2015 Mandela Civic Leadership Washington Fellow and the 2016 Recipient of the Commonwealth Youth Worker Award).

It is our hope that through conversation like this someone, somewhere, somehow would evolve newly acquired skepticism and open-minded sentiments, adopt progressive set of values that can tilt the odds in favor of sustainable moral, social and economic development in Africa.
