The Techpoint Innovation Tour (Northern Nigeria Edition) is made possible by our primary sponsors — iROKOtv.com and GIGM.com, location partners Ventures Platform Abuja, CoLab Kaduna and nHub Jos, and coverage partners — xteamstudios and Shutterbug Creative Media.
On Tuesday morning, the first of November, we checked into our lovely work space provided by the Ventures Platform Hub. After the brief customary strategy meeting, Muyiwa, accompanied by Emmanuel and Seyi had an interview with Kola Aina, the founder of the super-stylish hub.

By 10:45 am, they were done, so the entire team headed out to NEPZA (Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority) to meet with the WAAW foundation team. Google Map made it easy for us to locate the building quite easily, so we were right on time. A non-profit organisation, founded in 2007, they are working to advance STEM Education for African women.

We had an interesting chat with Loveth from WAAW about the work they do , while Victor left us for a lunch date with a fan of Techpoint.

The team also spoke with the CEO of the Enspire Hub about the tech startup scene in the FCT.

By 3 o’clock, our work in NEPZA building was done and our bellies were rumbling with hunger, so we went back to Ventures Platform hub to have lunch and prepare for the meetup. Victor graced us with his grinning face right after our meal. Our meetup with Abuja startups kicked off around 4:30 pm. After introductions and a little chit-chat, Muyiwa shared some insights on how the media can grow startups.

Question and answer time

We all had an enjoyable time at the event. Snacks and drinks were served as people networked and talked for the rest of the evening.

By 9 pm, Captain Omo drove us back to the hotel where we all chilled over the latest episode of Festac Town on iROKO TV. By 11 pm, we dragged our tired and happy faces to bed.
