Interswitch just entered a partnership with VISA which will now see its multi-channel payments platform, Quickteller accept VISA card transactions in the country.
What this simply means is, Visa Card owners can now do transactions which includes paying bills and transferring funds across all Quickteller channels. Same goes for merchants on the Quickteller platform as they too will be able to accept all Visa card payments.
The company says the partnership further demonstrates Visa’s commitment to working closely with financial institutions, mobile network operators, governments and non-governmental organisations in developing countries to extend access to financial services and electronic payments, helping to drive economic growth and financial inclusion by migrating cash spend to electronic payments.
Quickteller currently has over 3 million subscribers in the country.
