CODEGIRL, an extension of Google’s “Made With Code ”project, is being shared, free of charge, on YouTube.
The movie which was produced by Lesley Chilcott profiles Technovation, a tournament in which high school girls from around the world have three months to design an app that solves a problem in their community.
The film debuts in theaters Nov. 1 and will be available to stream for free on YouTube from Nov. 1 to Nov. 5. It will also be available on Google Play and iTunes on Nov. 6.
Shedding more light on why YouTube was chosen as a platform to debut the movie, CEO of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, says “YouTube seems to be a great place to launch this film, as AdAge just reported that some popular female YouTubers carry more clout than some mainstream celebs”

Some of you might be familiar with the movie producer, Lesley Chilcott, from her work on “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Waiting for Superman.”
