Celebrating Mitchell Elegbe, Interswitch Founder and Group MD

Today we celebrate Mitchell Elegbe, aka ‘Mr. Cashless’, as he adds another year.

Through sheer determination and resilience, an idea he nursed years ago after completion of his NYSC, has grown into a billion-naira revenue company, building Nigeria’s future, particularly in the payments industry.

Being the leader and visionary he is today, it’s hard to imagine a time when things weren’t always rosy for Mitchell Elegbe. As an undergrad, he struggled to make ends meet by making a business of dubbing cassettes he borrowed from friends. Today is the Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Limited.

Interswitch has grown to over N30.8 billion revenue, as at March 2015 year end, with 93% recurring revenue. One can only imagine what the future holds for Interswitch and Mr Elegbe.
