Delivery platform, Chowdeck, has hit a new milestone, achieving 1 million customer orders per month.

The platform now successfully connects customers across Nigeria and Ghana with a wide array of meals and daily essentials.

Chowdeck’s robust, tech-enabled network currently leverages over 20,000 riders across 11 cities, serving an existing user base of 1.5 million people. Beyond simple delivery, the company has emerged as a crucial partner for food businesses and retailers, offering a suite of solutions from logistics and inventory management to payment and

“Reaching 1 million orders a month this quickly is a powerful reflection of how far we’ve come. It is a testament to the hard work of our riders and restaurant partners, as well as the commitment of our customers. As we look to the future, we are excited by the opportunity to deepen access and convenience for millions of Africans and unlock new possibilities for customers and businesses alike,” Femi Aluko, CEO and Co-founder of Chowdeck, said in a statement shared with Techpoint Africa.

Chowdeck’s aggressive growth trajectory is being fueled by a recent $9 million Series A funding round and an ambitious strategic shift toward quick commerce. This shift is necessary to meet the rising demand for ultra-fast delivery across a wider range of products.

The journey began in October 2021 to make food effortlessly accessible. The company now powers tens of thousands of daily deliveries for both consumers and a variety of merchants.

In 2024, the value of meals delivered through the platform saw an impressive sixfold growth compared to the prior year. The company has already surpassed its entire volume from last year and is positioned for what is expected to be another record-breaking year in 2025. This underscores the acceleration of consumer reliance on digital convenience platforms in West Africa.

Chowdeck’s success arrives amid a volatile period for African quick-commerce, following the strategic exit of international rivals like Jumia Food and Bolt Food from the Nigerian market.

Unlike competitors who prioritised international fast-food chains, Chowdeck built its operations around delivering popular, lower-cost local cuisine like jollof rice, appealing to the daily eating habits of the average African consumer.

The company is now moving beyond logistics to become a full-stack partner for vendors. This shift was underscored by its recent acquisition of Mira, a point-of-sale and restaurant management system.
