- Nigerian food delivery startup, Chowdeck has entered an exclusive partnership with Chicken Republic in Lagos and Ibadan.
- This means Chowdeck will become the only food delivery company that has the restaurant’s menu on its app.
- Chowdeck announced a ₦1.9 billion in monthly gross merchandise value last year, and this partnership could help it increase that.
Chowdeck’s exclusive partnership with Chicken Republic comes just a day after both companies agreed on X (formerly Twitter) to reduce the price of Chicken Republic’s refuel meal to ₦1,000.
Already, Chicken Republic was no longer available on menus of competing food delivery platforms like Glovo as of yesterday, before what can now be described as a publicity stunt by Chicken Republic and Chowdeck on X.
According to a statement sent to Techpoint Africa, this new partnership agreement cements Chowdeck as Chicken Republic’s preferred delivery partner.
The statement also said the deal will ” enable enhanced quality, more affordable, delivery meals for its users in Lagos and Ibadan.”
The partnership between both companies is kicked off by an exclusive ₦1000 meal deal.
The CEO of Food Concepts PLC — owners of Chicken Republic — Kofi Abunu, said, the company is thrilled with the Chowdeck partnership.

Interestingly, Chowdeck also added Shoprite to its online shopping stores last year after announcing a monthly gross merchandise revenue of naira ₦1.9 billion.
