EduTAMS, a leading educational learning management system company based in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, announced the launch of its idea incubation and innovation centre, EduTAMS iHub, at a media parley held at the centre. The event, held on Tuesday, April 23, was attended by partners, including SystemSpecs, Globus Bank, Wema Bank, and Ogun Tech Community (OTC) members.
During the launch, Ademola Adenubi, founder and CEO of EduTAMS, gave a presentation highlighting their journey, use cases, and the market they serve. He explained that they are creating EduTAMS as a comprehensive school and learning management system that integrates features for digitising and automating every school process and connecting all levels of the education sector.
EduTAMS, already in use in state-owned public schools in Ogun State and various private schools across Nigeria, has three primary products — EduTAMS Essential, Basic, and Pro — tailored to cater to the specific needs and demands of their customers. EduTAMS Essential is personalised for public basic schools, EduTAMS Basic for private basic schools, and EduTAMS Pro for tertiary institutions. The platform is highly scalable and customisable to suit the various needs of its users.
Adenubi revealed that they began operations in 2011 at Tai Solarin University, with what became EduTAMS Pro being their flagship product.
Since then, they have gone on to integrate most of the schools in Ogun State, working with the state ministry of education.
"If you're looking at public schools in Ogun State, we have over 2,000 public schools that are using the platform. We have over 2 million learners on the platform in Ogun State. We have over 30,000 teachers that use the platform daily to run their schools."
The EduTAMS platform enables teachers to manage their head counts, optimise the time used for processing and uploading results, and access them from anywhere. The platform also provides administrators with insight from the data it gathers, allowing public officials to make better decisions on resource allocation based on real-time data on students' and teachers' head counts.
He added that they have close to 1,000 private basic schools that are using the platform in Ogun, Lagos, Edo, Rivers, and Kaduna states, and the FCT.
Speaking on their contribution to the betterment of the educational system in Ogun State, Adenubi said their solution has led to the transformation of education in the state, thanks to the fact that they involved stakeholders from all levels. He added that officials from the ministry of education use the platform to work with principals, who in turn, use it to work with their teachers and students. The teachers then use the platform to assess and moderate their students.

Adenubi spoke on EduTAMS' readiness to replicate its success in Ogun State at a national scale, pointing out its usefulness for organisations such as the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), which, according to him, needs access to reliable and valid data to moderate intervention in the education space nationwide.
Adenubi revealed that they are recipients of a Mastercard grant that enabled them to build the centre, which trains local talent and provides them with the necessary tools to scale and come up with solutions of their own. They plan to integrate graduates into EduTAMS' teams or help them secure placements elsewhere.
The facility has different sections to optimise learning, ideation, and innovation. Adenubi said they want to decentralise the focus on places like Lagos and boost growth in their own environment; thus, the decision to situate the centre in Ijebu Ode and grow the tech community in Ogun State at large.
On their plans for the EduTAMS incubation hub, Adenubi said that they recognise that there's a need for more innovative solutions to drive digital transformation in education.
They aim to collaborate with other founders and other startups to deliver value to the education system. To do that, they are opening the ideation hub of their facility to founders that align with their vision and providing them with funding to build the solutions they can work with.
He said they will be working with the Ogun Tech Community to identify and select these new startup founders for the programme.
"We'll be providing our facility at the EduTAMS iHub, the incubation centre, for these new startups to complete the development of their solution along with the investment that we'll be providing. And we're hoping that investment will take them through the incubation and then make it more interesting for new and bigger investors to bring money to scale this on a global or national level."
Adekunle Durosinmi, Registrar, West Midlands Open University, and President of the Ogun Tech Community (OTC), congratulated the EduTAMS team for launching iHub and also acknowledged their achievements and contributions to the growth of the Ogun State Tech Community.
