Hola,
Would you subscribe to X (formerly Twitter) because of Grok, Elon Musk’s version of ChatGPT?
In case you missed it, Musk recently launched Grok, a chatbot on X that aims to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Grok, the "conversational AI for understanding the universe," is said to be able to "answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask." It also has a "rebellious streak" and is intended to respond to questions with humour.
Grok is currently in early testing and is not accessible to the general public, but Musk stated that users of X's premium+ subscription service — which costs $16/month via web — will eventually be able to access it.
So, will you pay $16 for X Premium+ to access Grok? I wish I could but I don't have the luxury. 😭

Airtel Kenya says it will gradually roll out more 5G network sites to guarantee its final presence in every county.
Why? Doing so will allow more Kenyans to take advantage of the countless opportunities that the 5G network offers for homes, businesses, and individuals.
Meanwhile, last week, Safaricom announced that it had expanded its 5G reach to certain towns spanning 35 counties.
Bomet, Busia, Isiolo, Kitui, Mandera, Migori, Tharaka-Nithi, Trans Nzoia, Homa Bay, West Pokot, Embu, Kirinyaga, Muranga, and Turkana are among the new counties that have 5G availability.
These counties join Nairobi, Kiambu, Mombasa, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, Garissa, Kajiado, Kisii, Machakos, Kilifi, Siaya, Kericho, Kwale, Laikipia, Marsabit, Meru, Narok, Nyeri, and Vihiga as part of Safaricom's current 5G footprint.
While over 500,000 Safaricom customers use 5G smartphones, the Kenyan telco has increased data volume of its 5G WiFi for Home Consumer packages to the following: 400GB at KSh 3,499, 800GB for KSh 5,999, and 1500GB at KSh 9,999.
With Airtel, businesses and SMEs can access 5G network for as low as KSh 3,500 per month for unlimited Internet.
The monthly pacakges range from KSh 3,500 for 5G Unlimited 10Mbps, to KSh 5,500 for 5G Unlimited 30Mbps, and KSh 7,500 for 5G Unlimited 50Mbps. Individual home volume-based data plans begin at Ksh 2,999.
Showmax to launch an improved version by 2024
Recall when NBCUniversal, an American media giant, acquired a 30% stake in Showmax, MultiChoice's video platform.
For context, MultiChoice teamed up with NBCUniversal and the British media company Sky Group to form Earth UK Holdings Limited (EarthCo), acting as Showmax's parent company.
What’s new? The on-demand video platform will introduce Showmax 2.0, an improved version of its service, as part of this partnership by 2024.
The lineup for Showmax 2.0 will include a mix of MultiChoice's locally produced stations, like Africa Magic, Mzansi Magic, and Maisha Magic, and international content from Sky, NBCUniversal, HBO, Warner Brothers, and Sony.
There's more: Starting December 1, 2023, Showmax will no longer be accessible outside Africa.
In September 2023, MultiChoice announced that Showmax Pro would cease to exist in its current form by November 30, 2023, due to the upcoming Showmax relaunch. Showmax Pro stopped accepting new sign-ups beginning October 1.
In the interim, MultiChoice's on-demand video streaming subscription service will concentrate on serving the demands of its expanding customer base throughout the continent.
