Instagram is introducing a new feature that will allow you to schedule posts for the future directly from the app

Instagram is rolling out a new feature that allows users to schedule posts in advance directly from the app.

The feature is available to professional accounts and will allow users to schedule Photo, Reels, and Carousel posts up to 75 days in advance.

Why this matters: Content creators and social media managers have always had to depend on third-party platforms like Hootsuite, Later, and Buffer to schedule Instagram posts, so the new scheduling tool will almost certainly be a game changer.

It’s unclear if Instagram will also make the scheduled posts feature available to personal accounts, however, you can switch to a professional account by changing your account settings.

Now, this feature is not immediately available in Nigeria, but according to Instagram, it will be rolling out globally over the coming weeks.

How it works: Once available, here’s how you can access the scheduled posts feature:

  • After selecting your content (just before you hit "Share"), scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Advanced Settings."
  • Tap the "Schedule this post" toggle
  • Select when you want the post to go live
  • Head back to the Instagram post page and tap "Schedule"

Instagram also announced an updated website which its CEO Adam Mosseri says is "cleaner, faster, easier to use, and is designed now to take advantage of large screen monitors."
