Techpoint Africa Digital Currency Summit

There's been a lot of buzz around non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and it's only getting bigger. In today's edition of the Techpoint Africa Podcast, we talk about the new milestone NFTs have just reached in Q1 2022 — $50 billion in trading volume.

This is in sharp to the $23 billion recorded in the whole of 2021. From dancing pallbearers to traditional drummers everyone seems to be making a killing on NFTs.

However, the same cannot be said for Sina Estavi, the crypto entrepreneur who bought Twitter Founder, Jack Dorsey's tweet for $2.9 million and got very underwhelming bids for it.

According to Wall Street Journal, the NFT that used to be worth almost $3 million might not fetch the owner more than $14,000 in return.

How is that possible? Well, Bolu has some ideas but the Web3 and blockchain space is one that might be tricky to navigate. This is why Techpoint Africa has an entire event dedicated to understanding it from artists and traders that have mastered it.
