This week, Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari made a joke and many Nigerians didn't find it funny.

At the airport when the president returned to Nigeria after a 10-day vacation to London, a journalist asked him about the recurring kidnapping on the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

His response was that he believed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abubakar Adamu has been working hard to curtail it because "he's losing weight." Watch the video below.

Nairamarley arrested by EFCC

Today, we heard news that controversial Nigerian musician Nairamarley was arrested by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos. According to reports, he was arrested alongside others in relation to advance fee fraud.

This is coming just weeks after the artiste started a conversation on the morality of Yahoo Yahoo (cyber fraud) on Instagram and released a single titled Am I a yahoo boy?. He released the visuals of the song just yesterday featuring Zlatan Ibile. Apparently, today's his birthday.

Drama in Kano state

On Wednesday this week, the Kano state house assembly moved to reduce the influence of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II by passing a bill to remove the 36 local government areas of the sate from the Kano Emirate and creating four new emirates.
