This week, Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari made a joke and many Nigerians didn't find it funny.
At the airport when the president returned to Nigeria after a 10-day vacation to London, a journalist asked him about the recurring kidnapping on the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
His response was that he believed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abubakar Adamu has been working hard to curtail it because "he's losing weight." Watch the video below.
VIDEO: President @Mbuhari says IG of Police is working hard because he is losing weight as answer to rising insecurity and kidnapping in Nigeria.

Reactions;
Wow!
So after all the killings and kidnapping that has be ongoing, all that Buhari has to say is that he believes the IGP is working because he has lost weight.
Please who did we offend as a country?
— Sherishery (@Mz_sherifa) May 6, 2019
@MBuhari -I saw the IGP and he has really lost weight, that's a sign he is working really hard.
Buhari is sick in mind, body and in style.
It's unfortunate we have found here 😥— Hakym (@TheBogeyMan__) May 6, 2019
Buhari was asked if there is need to review the strategy on the recurring kidnapping on the Kaduna Abuja Highway. His response *‘I just saw the IGP now he is losing weight, that means he is working’*. FATHER LORD, who did we offend in this shithole called NIGERIA???

President @MBuhari welcome home. But I think it’s possible the @PoliceNG IGP lost weight because he was fasting against the bandits, or maybe he is on keto diet! Either way, we are still a long way from the security of life and property in Nigeria.

Drama in Kano state
On Wednesday this week, the Kano state house assembly moved to reduce the influence of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II by passing a bill to remove the 36 local government areas of the sate from the Kano Emirate and creating four new emirates.
Kano House of Assembly passes a bill that will make room for the upgrading of four district heads into first class emirs. All that is now left is for the state governor to sign the bill into law.https://t.co/Yy8TWly2ty#Kano #Nigeria #EmirOfKano #BreakingNews #Breaking

How easy it was for the Kano assembly to pass bill for creation of 4 more emirs, all because of a bitter truth pill. However, they take forever to investigate Ganduje corruption and child abuse pic.twitter.com/Ai2bCv9QN6

This is the reason ganduje wants to remove emir Sanusi Muhammad Sanusi II

A huge disrespect to the history of the Kano Emirate
A 2000-year old institution has been bastardized because politics. Dethroning Emir Sanusi would have been more noble. Sad! https://t.co/urpOhW1uNd

Ganduje is not smart at all. You don't destroy an institution because you dislike those that are running the institution. Kano emirate is more than Emir Sanusi.
— Lanre (@9jaOriginal) May 8, 2019
The Kano emirate is bigger than Ganduje and his political ambition and even bigger than Emir Sanusi as an individual. Dividing the Kano emirate is less a revenge on Emir Sanusi than it is a collective insult on Kano's history, tradition and heritage.

I sympathize with Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi over his recent persecution and attempts to humiliate him by all means. This is the price you pay for speaking truth to power. Some of us have gone to prison for this.
Take heart sir.

He had it coming
When tyranny went after Saraki & NASS, what did Emir Sanusi say? When they broke into judges’ homes at night, what did he say? When they went after Onnoghen, what did he say? When they went after Zakzaky, what did he say?
Like I always say, the tyranny is enough to go round.

Ganduje can create all sorts of facetious 'Emirates' he wants, but none will come even quarter way close to Emir Sanusi Lamido in prestige, charisma, intelligence and influence.
