The International Space Apps Challenge hackathon has kicked off in Lagos with a press conference with leading technology executives from the event’s sponsors and technical sponsors.

The event, which is hosted in Lagos at the Council Chamber of the Lagos City Hall, is taking place simultaneously in two other Nigerian cities – Calabar and Ilorin.

Today marks the official launching of the 2015 edition of the 4-day hackathon. Starting tomorrow, developers, visual artists, graphic designers, Data Visualization experts, Physicists, engineers, Students, Teachers, and even VCs from all over the ecosystem will gather in the 3 cities to rub minds towards creating globally relevant solutions to local problems, using big data from NASA’s Open Data Initiative.
