Innjoo, the company behind popular budget smartphones like the Innjoo i1s and Innjoo i2, yesterday unveiled it’s 2015 flagship device — the Innjoo One — during it’s first ever launch event held in Nigeria, at Sheraton Hotel in Lagos.
The Innjoo One, a low-cost premium offering , is the most visually appealing device produced by Innjoo yet.
It features a double-sided glassed, full aluminium (just like on the iPhone) body frame. The specs are just as impressive: A 5-inch, 295 ppi HD display with Dragontrail glass protection, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, 64-bit octa-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, 13 MP front camera, 5MP “selfie” camera with 88 degrees wide angle, Dual SIM functionality (nano and micro) and a 2600 mAh polymer battery Innjoo promises will last 12 hours 3G talk-time and 7.8 hours gaming.
During his presentation, Innjoo CEO revealed the inspiration behind the Innjoo brand name(which happens to be coined from the phrase “Internet Journey”), before proudly announcing that over 300,000 Innjoo phones have been sold since the company first launched in Dubai in May, 2014. He also unveiled the official slogan for the Innoo brand – “Be You”.
The Innjoo One is the first ever device to ship with Innjoo’s custom Android operating system, the InnOS. The Innjoo OS, which bears striking similarity to Xiaomi’s MIUI OS, features a one-for-all account system which gives users access to Innjoo’s bundle services, which include the InnBrowser, InnStore (which the CEO promises will feature localized content), InnTheme and InnCloud. InnCloud is a cloud storage offering which currently only features contacts backup and restore.
Aside the amazing specs, other key selling points for the Innjoo One are it’s dual mic functionality for intelligent noise cancellation, intelligent beauty camera mode, and free replacement for broken displays, among other things.
For all the mouth-watering specs and promising bundled services, the Innjoo One will retail for only N27,999, exclusively via Jumia. Pre-orders for the Innjoo One begin today the 12th of February, while the first batch of devices will begin shipping on the 23rd of February.
