Roughly three weeks ago, the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, was abuzz with energy and innovation on June 18–19, 2025, as thousands gathered for the second edition of the Lagos Startup Expo — Techpoint Africa’s flagship event spotlighting Africa’s fast-growing startup ecosystem.
This year’s edition, powered by Haisic Nigeria, brought together founders, investors, professionals, and tech enthusiasts from across the continent. From packed masterclasses to inspiring panel sessions and a high-traffic exhibition floor, it was a two-day experience filled with insight, connection, and real opportunity.
A Platform for builders and bold ideas

At the core of the Expo was a diverse exhibition floor featuring startups in fintech, healthtech, verification tech, edtech, legal, proptech, SaaS, and more, all solving real problems with scalable innovation. Attendees had hands-on experiences with products, met the minds behind the ideas, and explored collaboration and funding opportunities.
A standout moment came on Day 2, when hundreds of attendees turned up despite the morning rain, a testament to the passion and resilience of Nigeria’s tech community.
Action-packed stages and sessions

The public stage delivered thought-provoking panels and fireside chats covering everything from electric mobility to healthtech realities and the power of storytelling for founders and what the impact of AI could look like for businesses in this part of the world.
Meanwhile, the VIP Masterclass series gave its attendees the opportunity to go deep with sessions on fundraising, engineering cost control, regulation, storytelling, exits, and bootstrapping.

Speakers included leading voices like Tunde Onakoya, Founder, Chess in Slums; Ifunanya Anamelechi, VP, Legal and Compliance, Zone; Jude Dike, Co-founder, GetEquity; Ike Eze, Managing Partner, BetaVentures; Douglas Kendyson, Founder, Selar; and Chiamaka Ogbonnaya-Osibie, Associate, Trusted Advisors.
Networking, investment, and growth
Special areas like the Investor Lounge offered early-stage founders access to private conversations with active investors. The VIP Lounge and networking zones ensured attendees made meaningful connections throughout the event, many of which are already leading to follow-up conversations, partnerships, and deal-making.
