Recyclestack, the circular innovation company partnering with the Federal government to digitize and formalise Nigeria’s Circular Economy

Recyclestack, a circular tech and innovation company in partnership with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency has unveiled the Waste Marketplace Program, an initiative designed to formalise the country’s waste value chain by connecting waste generators, collectors, aggregators, recyclers, and end-users in a transparent and traceable system.

By leveraging technology, the National Waste Marketplace program aims to create economic linkages across the recycling ecosystem while promoting environmental compliance, material recovery, and sustainable production and consumption patterns.

The National Waste Marketplace program seeks to digitise, formalise and scale the circular economy with a vision to onboard, train, certify, empower and connect 10 million Nigerians to the global circular ecosystem by 2035.

Recyclestack Limited, a circular tech company providing innovative sustainable waste management and circular economy solutions leveraging technology is the Technology Partner for the National Waste Marketplace Program.

Founded by Nkem Orakwe, a tech entrepreneur, an IT expert , a circular and sustainability advocate, and a Sustainability Fellow of the Lagos Business School, Recyclestack’s co- founders are environmentally friendly technology entrepreneurs with a minimum of 10 years experience in the technology entrepreneurship and sustainability sectors.

The company’s flagship product is RECYCLESTACK.NG, a subscription based web and mobile app online marketplace that creates waste to wealth opportunities for Millions of Nigerians. Users subscribe to list, sell and buy scraps,fairly used items and solid wastes in the marketplace.

Launched in July 2023, Recyclestack.NG has over 100,000 users to show market validation and has processed about over 1 Million Dollars B2B and B2C transactions between buyers and sellers of solid wastes/ recyclers.

Recyclestack App has been rated 4.9/5 on Google Playstore and can be downloaded on Apple and Google playstores.

Recyclestack is amongst the few startups nominated for the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Program and Access Bank Sustainability Accelerator Program .

The company has also received several awards in Sustainability and has partnered with several organisations in Nigeria for the promotion and formalisation of the circular economy.
