Sidebrief, the regulatory technology platform that helps businesses manage incorporation, compliance, and corporate filings across African markets, has announced the launch of Signal, a quarterly event series created in partnership with Diligence Africa and Impact Hub Lagos. Signal is designed to facilitate structured dialogue between founders, investors, regulators, and ecosystem operators shaping Africa’s startup landscape.

The first edition, Signal Q1 2026, is scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026, at Impact Hub Lagos, 22 Glover Road, Ikoyi. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, followed by a networking session and drinks.

Event format and structure

Each edition of Signal will feature 20 speakers across 5 moderated panel discussions. The format is intentionally panel-driven, with no keynote presentations, and is structured to encourage substantive exchange between participants who occupy different positions within the ecosystem.

The five panels for the inaugural edition cover: Regulatory and Operations; Ecosystem and Start-up Support; Raising Capital and Investment; Scaling and Expansion; and Founder Stories and Media.

Confirmed speakers and organisations

Signal Q1 has confirmed speakers from a broad cross-section of Nigeria’s startup and business landscape. The Regulatory and Operations panel will feature Seyi Babatunde (HR Leverage), Usman Sotunde (Sidebrief), and Temidayo Ajayi (Detail Solicitors). The Ecosystem and Start-up Support panel includes Kevwe Jefia (Impact Hub Lagos), Ina Alogwu (T2 Mobile/ARM), and Ayo Arikawe (Velocity Capital).

The Raising Capital and Investment panel brings together Fisayo Durojaye (Enza Capital), Damilola Thompson (Diligence Africa), and Taiwo Kamson (EchoVC). A fourth panel onScaling and Expansion features Nnamdi Okoh (Terminal Africa), Frank Atube (Seamfix), and Tobi Odukoya (CDCare).

The inaugural edition features 20 speakers across 5 panels at Impact Hub Lagos on March 27, 2026.

About Signal

According to Sidebrief, Signal grows out of the company’s day-to-day work with startups across the continent. Through processing compliance and corporate structuring for hundreds of businesses, the company says it has observed recurring misalignments between founders, investors, regulators, and operators — particularly around governance, fundraising readiness, and cross-border expansion.

Signal aims to address those gaps through direct, recurring conversation. The event will be hosted quarterly, with each edition featuring new speakers and panel themes selected to reflect the most relevant issues facing the ecosystem at the time.

“Signal is a direct extension of what we see every day at Sidebrief — founders navigating compliance, preparing to raise, and scaling across borders, often without the right conversations or connections to do it well. We wanted to create a recurring space where those conversations happen in a structured, substantive way, with the right people in the room.” — Abdulwaheed Yusuf, CEO, Sidebrief
