Scrum  Day  Nigeria  2026 will be held on Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, bringing together product leaders, engineers, technology executives, and agile practitioners to address product delivery challenges in Nigeria’s business environment.

The practitioner-led one-day conference, themed “Building Better Products – Sooner, Safer, Happier,” will focus on modern product development practices, including Scrum Framework, Kanban Methods, and Lean. The organisers say the event is designed to help organisations improve how they design, build and deliver products that meet user needs.

Scrum  Day  Nigeria  is convened by Sam Adesoga, Principal Consultant at ValueHut Consulting and a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org. He has worked across software development, quality assurance, product ownership and enterprise agile coaching for more than two decades.

Explaining the motivation for the conference, Adesoga said many professionals entering technology roles face challenges when working on complex products within teams. “There is an abundance of courses helping people get into tech jobs,” he said. “However, many struggle when dropped into the real world of work, where they must solve complex problems and collaborate with others to build valuable products.”

He added that in consulting engagements, he has observed projects that overrun

budgets and deliver inconsistent outcomes. “These products do not always deliver on promised value,” he said. “For these reasons, I decided to kick off Scrum Day Nigeria as a yearly practitioner-led event where individuals, teams and their leaders can pause, reflect and learn from each other about emerging ways of building great products.”

According to the organisers, Nigerian businesses continue to experience slow product delivery cycles, inefficiencies and low productivity. The conference is positioned as a platform to address these issues through shared experiences, discussions and practical sessions led by practitioners and industry leaders.

Adesoga noted that while agile methods have existed for decades, case studies from Africa remain limited. “We do not have many of these stories from our continent,” he said. “This conference will help amplify stories yet to be told and support organisations to improve how we build products in Nigeria.”

This year’s programme will include keynote sessions, track talks across product, delivery and engineering, hands-on workshops, coaching clinics and lightning talks.

A Live Metrics Lab will allow participants to review their own performance data and leave with an improvement plan for their organisations.

On expected outcomes, Adesoga said participants will gain practical insights they can apply at work. “Participants will learn how to organise to deliver valuable products, how to use intrinsic methods of motivation to cultivate a happier team at work, and metrics that help leaders measure value being delivered,” he said. He added that these sessions will also address how teams confirm that work is truly DONE and how to deliver more by focusing on less.
