$1 million gaming tournament

Omniverse event

Did you know Nigerians spent over $200 million on gaming in 2023? According to Newzoo, a platform that provides gaming data and analysis, Nigerians spent the most on gaming in Africa last year.

I first learnt of this data in Bolu’s article about Call of Duty Mobile (CODM). The article also sheds some light on how some people are turning gaming into a full-time job, something that would have been a pipe dream a few years ago.

However, there might be an opportunity for Nigerians to earn even more from gaming. Omniverse Africa, a company that creates gaming events and tournaments has partnered with with Ultimate Endgamers League (UEL),  Unanimous Games, and  Evolution Esports to allow Nigerian gamers to participate in gaming tournaments with a prize pool of $1 million.

But there’s a major obstacle standing in the way of Nigerian gamers and their chance of winning a $1 million gaming tournament. You can take a guess, but I promise you’re not prepared for the answer. Find out in Bolu’s latest gaming article.

Just like Instagram subscriptions and YouTube channel membership, the Sub-Space will essentially strengthen creator-fan engagements automatically increasing loyalty and support and thus more paying subscribers which ultimately transcends into more financial benefits.

Creators keep their paying subscribers engaged by sharing personal updates and live snippets, live schedules, and keeping subscribers informed.

Many people would pay to get exclusive perks from their favourite stars and these creators could keep the non-subscribers curious.

Previously, TikTok has been successful in experimenting with different features, just as the Add to Music tool which rolled out in December 2023, the Nearby feed in Southeast Asia, the ad-free monthly subscription plan and automatic AI content detection.

TikTok is the fifth most popular platform, and as of April 2024, had reached more than 1.582 billion monthly active users worldwide with 34 million videos posted each day.

Morocco-based HRtech startup, Kwiks, has secured $827,000 in funding from Azur Innovation Management (AIM) to streamline the hiring process.

To do this, the newly acquired funding will be used to speed up the development of its AI-driven recruitment solutions.

How does this work? So freelance headhunters would be matched with companies based on the specified requirements and skills.

This creates a modern initiative thereby improving the efficiency of the recruitment process, and thus offering a more standardised approach instead of the typical traditional methods.

In 2020, the startup had raised an undisclosed amount from Greentec Capital Partners.

Additionally, Kwiks will continue to develop innovative features like the R2Ds solution that generates automated candidate reports.

The startup hopes for a more agile and ethical recruitment process through the utilisation of artificial intelligence.

Have a great day!
