In June 2019, we kickstarted the inaugural edition of the Techpoint Africa Bootcamp and it was smashing success, if we do say so ourselves. In fact, one of our finalists, Tage Kene-Okafor, was recently grabbed by US-based media giant, TechCrunch, barely a year after he officially joined Techpoint Africa.

So now, based on popular demand, we are bringing back Techpoint Writer Bootcamp.

Techpoint Writer Bootcamp 2.0

The second edition of Techpoint Writer Bootcamp is scheduled to hold in Ile-Ife, Osun state, from April 6th to April 10th, 2021.

During the bootcamp, 6 finalists will be lodged at a shared house in Ife, Osun state. They will get an intensive, hands-on introduction to the world of tech journalism and what we do at Techpoint Africa.

At the end of the bootcamp, at least three of the best participants will be offered a paid 6-month internship with Techpoint Africa, with future work potential for the right candidates.

Note: We reduced the number of bootcamp finalists by 50%, compared 2019. This was done with proper COVID-19 prevention protocols in mind.

Techpoint Paid Internship, 3rd edition

While the bootcamp will give you all the core basics, the paid internship is where the real training begins.

First introduced in 2017, the Techpoint Paid Internship has produced some of the best talent in tech media, including our very own Titilola, Nifemi (who now heads marketing at Kudi), Emmanuel and Oluwanifemi.

Eligibility

Like TechCrunch's Tage, and our own Titilola, Emmanuel and Oluwanifemi, you do not need any journalism or tech experience to apply for the bootcamp. You just need to know how to communicate effectively in writing.
