The best order to watch all the MCU movies that build up to Avengers: Infinity War

by | Apr 24, 2018

After the huge success of Black Panther, Marvel Studios is set to release its long awaited second movie of the year, Avengers: Infinity War.

In what has been described as a very ambitious movie and the greatest crossover movie of all time, Infinity War brings together dozens of superheros from all over the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to fight a common enemy — Thanos.

The movie features your favourite Marvel superheros from Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spiderman to Hulk and 30 other superheroes, or is it 40 or 70? Nobody seems to have an exact number but according to Marvel Studios, there are 64 main characters in the movie.

All the stories about each superhero from the inception of the Marvel universe, build up to this one. In order not to miss anything in Avengers: Infinity War, you would have to watch most of them and there’s a scope to it.

Thankfully, Muyiwa Matuluko, Techpoint’s Editor-in-Chief breaks it down in a Twitter thread.

“It’s amazing to see how they all connect in hindsight, particularly if you follow the canon timeline. Each movie makes a whole lot more sense, especially if you see them only few hours/days apart” another tweet reads.

Before we delve into the list of movies and One Shots, it is important to note that although they are not in the order they were released, it is better this way; you have to trust Muyiwa. Also, don’t miss the One Shots and the post-credits in between. Now, to the list.
