In last week's roundup, I reported the story of the mysterious snake that swallowed ₦36 million in the Makurdi office of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). It appears that the animal kingdom has launched an attack on Nigeria as another huge sum of money was swallowed by monkeys according to Senator Shehu Sani.
Senator Shehu Sani's revelation came after Senator Abdullahi Adamu was removed as the chairman of Northern Senators' Forum for mismanaging ₦70 million belonging to the Northern Senators. He stated that the money was allegedly swallowed by monkeys in Senator Adamu's farm. Nigerians reacted to the news on social media.
We're fed up
The snake will forever be in the monkey's shadow, 36 million to 70 million. Please I want out of this jungle😭😭😭😭😭

Boko Haram abducts school girls in Yobe
On Monday night, terrorist group, Boko Haram attacked the village of Dapchi about 101km North-west of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. The attackers reportedly opened fire on Dapchi residents and set many of their houses ablaze. Leaving many of them, including students of the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi to run into the bushes for safety.
Many of the school girls were seen forced into trucks by the Boko Haram insurgents. After the attacks, about 94 school girls could not be accounted for.

This is coming after the Nigerian presidency reportedly paid the terrorist group €3 million to release the Chibok girls that were abducted in 2014. Here's how Nigerians reacted on social media.
Not again!
As for the missing Yobe children,.we are short of words. We only pray it is a nightmare and hope to wake up to hear that it never happened. We can’t afford to travel the Chibok way again. Govt must be alive to its responsibility and call for help where capacity is lacking
— YY Sani (@yysani19) February 22, 2018
The reports about missing girls from Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi Yobe State after a Boko Haram attack are too similar to the #ChibokGirls saga and should be handled better. I have a terrible sense of Déjà vu. We can't allow this happen again!

First you deny that 94 girls were abducted by Boko Haram from their school in Yobe.
Ur were exposed and forced to admit that u were LYING.
Now u say that the girls have been rescued by the military which is ANOTHER FAT LIE!
Buhari STOP the lies and FIND the girls!
— Femi Fani-Kayode (@realFFK) February 22, 2018
Very conflicting accounts of what happened at Dapchi. Yobe state gov say 51 "unaccounted for" but they expect many to be found. A parent of a girl who is missing told me he saw girls being taken away in a truck and figure of missing is 93.
— Stephanie Hegarty (@stephhegarty) February 21, 2018
I hear Aso Rock so furious that I busted their lies since the abduction of School Girls in Yobe. They are personally calling media houses to say the School Girls have all returned. LOL
One of the School Girls that escaped said Boko Haram put abducted girls in trucks.
— Comrade Deji Adeyanju (@adeyanjudeji) February 21, 2018
Double standards
Femi Adesina or Aunty Laura Onochie will soon come out and tell us that Jonathan allowed Boko Haram to kidnap over 200 Chibok School girls but under Buhari, 'only' 94 Yobe School girls were kidnapped. Who wants to bet?
— Prof Stanley Nwabia (@MrStanleyNwabia) February 21, 2018
Chibok girls kidnap, they were all screaming GEJ's name even in their sleep.
Dapchi girls kidnap, they are calling on Yobe Governor?
The bulk no longer stops on Buhari's table?
Chai, Nigerians have a Masters Degree on Hypocrisy.
Jesu!
— Miz Cazorla (@MizCazorla1) February 23, 2018
When Chibok girls were abducted some members of the Jonathan admin denied the abduction. Those who attacked the govt then for the denial are same ones shamelessly denying this Yobe abduction.
We didn't think GEJ was bad. We just wanted power.
— Callings (@CollinsUma) February 22, 2018
In the heat of the moment, the Yobe State Government claimed that the girls had been rescued but later retracted the statement stating that earlier reports were due to misinformation from men of the Nigerian Army.

The same Nigerian Army who told us they killed Shekau, are the ones who said all the girls at Dapchi, Yobe have been rescued.
Meanwhile Yobe government have confirmed about 48 girls are still missing.
It will be very difficult to believe any information from the army again.
— Kemi (@d_problemsolver) February 22, 2018
A parent in Dapchi just told us the governor of Yobe addressed them told them NO GIRLS have been rescued. Despite several sources telling us they have. They are devastated and very confused.
— Stephanie Hegarty (@stephhegarty) February 22, 2018
dear colleagues, the only trusted source in this Yobe abduction should be the parents of the girls.. We can't trust the Nigerian state for this information, we will end up with doctored press statements.. Chibok repeating itself again

Black Panther VS Batman
We have finally seen Marvel's Black Panther and it was lit. By we, I mean the Techpoint team, check out photos from our trip to Wakanda here. This week, while more people were storming the cinemas to see the movie, an argument ensued on social media regarding our new favourite superhero and Batman.

Dana Air, again Part 2
This week, an aircraft belonging to Dana Airline skidded off the runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State. If you recall, two roundups ago, I reported that the door of a Dana Air aircraft fell off upon landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Thankfully, there were no casualties this time as well.
