In last week's roundup, I reported the story of the mysterious snake that swallowed ₦36 million in the Makurdi office of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). It appears that the animal kingdom has launched an attack on Nigeria as another huge sum of money was swallowed by monkeys according to Senator Shehu Sani.

Senator Shehu Sani's revelation came after Senator Abdullahi Adamu was removed as the chairman of Northern Senators' Forum for mismanaging ₦70 million belonging to the Northern Senators. He stated that the money was allegedly swallowed by monkeys in Senator Adamu's farm. Nigerians reacted to the news on social media.

Boko Haram abducts school girls in Yobe

On Monday night, terrorist group, Boko Haram attacked the village of Dapchi about 101km North-west of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. The attackers reportedly opened fire on Dapchi residents and set many of their houses ablaze. Leaving many of them, including students of the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi to run into the bushes for safety.

Many of the school girls were seen forced into trucks by the Boko Haram insurgents. After the attacks, about 94 school girls could not be accounted for.

This is coming after the Nigerian presidency reportedly paid the terrorist group €3 million to release the Chibok girls that were abducted in 2014. Here's how Nigerians reacted on social media.

Not again!

People tried to debunk the news

Then we heard that the girls had been rescued

Apparently...

Double standards

In the heat of the moment, the Yobe State Government claimed that the girls had been rescued but later retracted the statement stating that earlier reports were due to misinformation from men of the Nigerian Army.

Black Panther VS Batman

We have finally seen Marvel's Black Panther and it was lit. By we, I mean the Techpoint team, check out photos from our trip to Wakanda here. This week, while more people were storming the cinemas to see the movie, an argument ensued on social media regarding our new favourite superhero and Batman.

Dana Air, again Part 2

This week, an aircraft belonging to Dana Airline skidded off the runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State. If you recall, two roundups ago, I reported that the door of a Dana Air aircraft fell off upon landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Thankfully, there were no casualties this time as well.

Here's what Dana Air had to say about the incident:

Nigerians have since expressed their displeasure at the airline on social media.
