Econet Media's pan-African media company, Kwesé is expanding its ground with a partnership with iflix Africa. The partnership deal, according to Kwesé has Kwesé taking up a significant stake in iflix Africa.

Iflix is a subscription based video-on-demand service provider with its focus on emerging markets while Kwesé is the media arm of one of Africa’s leading telecoms, media and technology groups, Econet.

The partnership, which will have both companies committing their resources towards delivering relevant and compelling content, is designed to deliver a seamless mobile experience to African subscribers.

Iflix which launched its service in Nigeria last year is currently available in 23 countries including in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe while Kwesé is currently available in 13 countries.

For Kwesé, the exponential growth of content consumption on mobile in Africa, the partnership with iflix Africa will ensure that the company is not only part of the evolution but the leader. And iflix is looking at the deep experience and success of Econet Group in media and telecoms to be a huge advantage for rapid growth.

This is a developing story.
