CodePyramid, a meetup based in Kano, is organising an event this weekend for techies. CodePyramid which is fondly referred to as "Nerd Club" has been an informal group with software developers, graphics designers, web designers and other techies meet monthly and organise hackathons.
This Saturday 29th October, 2016 CodePyramid will be holding its first major meeting for techies in the heart of Kano. At its core, the program encourages the development of the software developers (as opposed to a business incubator) as well as provide mentorship on development, presentation skills, project management and more.
The organisers claim to offer a friendly atmosphere regardless of gender and ethnicity to foster the development of every software developer in attendance. CodePyramid is not youth-centered but welcomes talented young people who are engaged with software development.
The organisers Ahmed Idris, Mubarak Aminu and Aminu Bakori believe that data should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions. As such, they highly celebrate the principle of Open Data.
"We want to interact with existing organisations to build a tech ecosystem in the North. We’ll work with government, industry, schools, and youth. We’re opinionated, independent, and eager to help," says Ahmed Idris.
CodePyramid will be taking place at:
Venue: 105 New Court Road, Opp Premiers Clinic Kano, Kano
Date: Saturday, October 29, 2016.
