The Lagos AppCircus event which took place on 8th October 2015 at the Co-Creation Hub, Lagos had 8 entrepreneurial developers pitch their Android app before a jury of top Experts. The apps were Scantranx PoS, Verge PoS, Swap Naija, RouteBuzz, BrainFriend, Campus Pal, Kunku, and Ask an Expert Live Chat. VergePoS, developed by Francis Osifo, emerged as the winner.
The jury – which comprised Simeon Ononobi, Founder/CEO of SimplePay Limited; Yele Okeremi, CEO of Precise Financial Systems; Emeka Okoye, CEO and Chief Architect, Cymantics and Fredrick Omondi, Software Engineer at Intel Corporation – were impressed with Francis Osifo’s VergePOS.
VergePOS is a simple and intuitive Point of Sale (PoS) solution for retailers, built to tackle the challenges faced by retailers across Africa and the world at large.
As the winner of Lagos AppCircus event, Francis received a nomination to the 2016 Mobile Premier Awards and the chance to pitch live at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with other Appcircus winners from around. If he impresses the jury in Spain, he will emerge as the overall winner.
