Techpoint Inspired was lit! On Monday, May 29th, over 1,000 people gathered at the Lifepointe Centre, Lekki, to pitch, network and learn from experienced startup founders. From 7 am to 4 pm when the programme ended, there wasn’t a dull moment.

Who wants to be a millionaire? The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), an initiative of the current administration seeks to enable small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria. The initiative will host a hackathon in June which will be focused on creating a tool that will foster transparency and accountability among key Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).


The ‘Yabacon Valley’ appointees. On Tuesday, the Acting President of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo inaugurated the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council. Among the appointees are Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Juliet Amamah, the CEOs of Flutterwave and Jumia respectively.


European fundraising for African tech startups. PitchDrive, a 3-week, 5-city European tech hub tour across London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich and Paris has been launched by CcHub in collaboration with Google. Africa-based startups that meet a set of criteria should apply to get Series A funding.
