We’re excited to announce our partnership with Miva University to launch the Simulated Work Experience Bootcamp! This 12-week program is all about hands-on learning, giving participants the chance to solve real challenges while building practical skills for their future. This marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between NexaScale and Miva University, with plans to run multiple cohorts over the coming year.

What’s This Bootcamp About?

The first cohort starts in January 2025; this 12-week program will bring together teams of developers, designers, and project managers who will collaborate in teams to develop impactful solutions. Think apps for managing tasks, tools for tracking health, and even platforms for events. What’s the end goal, you ask? Learning by doing and creating solutions that matter.

Program Highlights:

  • Teamwork: Participants will collaborate in diverse teams that reflect real-world work environments, combining the skills of developers, designers, and project managers.
  • Hands-On Experience: The program focuses on practical learning by guiding participants through every step of building a real project, from brainstorming ideas to presenting final solutions.
  • Mentorship: There will be experienced mentors who will provide advice, share industry knowledge, and help solve challenges throughout the program.
  • Practical Projects: Teams will create solutions to real problems, such as task management apps, personal finance trackers, event platforms, and more, all designed to make a positive impact.
  • Skill Development: Participants will gain experience in areas like research, product design, technical development, testing, and project management.
  • Real-World Tools: Teams will use industry-standard tools like Slack for communication, Trello for task management, and GitHub for coding collaboration, preparing them for professional environments.
  • Networking Opportunities: Participants will connect with mentors, peers, and industry professionals, building relationships that could lead to future opportunities.
  • Professional Feedback: At the end of the program, participants will present their projects to a panel of industry experts who will provide valuable feedback and insights.
  • Portfolio Building: By the end of the program, participants will have completed a project they can showcase in their portfolio, boosting their career prospects.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Learning: The program fosters a collaborative environment where participants learn to work across disciplines, blending technical skills with creativity and problem-solving.
