Social media regulations in Egypt
It appear Egypt wants to follow in the footsteps of Uganda and Tanzania, as there are reports that a new draft law for the regulation of social media has been submitted to parliament for review (iAfrikan).
Light-Fidelity
A team of researchers from Wits University, in South Africa, have reportedly developed an internet connectivity solution than can transmit data using light, as opposed to radio frequencies employed in conventional Wi-Fi. While not a new technology, their solution is said to potentially deliver speeds of up to 10Gbps (MyBroadband).

Popular blogger Linda Ikeji is taking her TV arm, Linda Ikeji TV (LITV) beyond YouTube. She is set to take on the likes of iROKOtv with the launch of an online streaming service with the same name (Techpoint).
