Last weekend, Hip Hop World Magazine hosted the 12th edition of their annual awards show, The Headies Awards recognising outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry.
Amongst the numerous Headies conversations on social media was Instagram comedian, Ebiye's comment on Aramide's win (below).

Reactions
Unacceptable
Ebiye is the official representative of unfortunate Nigerian misogynists
We see his kind in okada riders, conductors, male colleagues who are quick to call women 'ashewo' at the slightest provocation.
It is an ingrained mentality in a lot of Nigerian men pic.twitter.com/5JaEElswuz
— Dr Kelechi Okoro | Ebonyi Babe (@healthertainer) May 6, 2018
Ebiye is a fool.
He didn’t make a “distasteful comment”
He made a “grave accusation”
And should answer for it.People should learn that apology doesn’t overturn everything.
Maybe then they would understand how consequences work and put some thought ahead of their statements.
— eke (@eke___) May 6, 2018
The comments by Ebiye are the kind of comments made about many women behind closed doors. It is distasteful and can never be okay.

Nigerian Men will join in dragging Ebiye. No sir, drag your brothers first followed by your friends. The same ones that you sit down with everyday. Most of you don't believe a woman can be successful without sex and that's the truth.

I would say Ebiye is a disappointment but then, I don't think highly of most men so when things like this happen, there's hardly something to be disappointed in.
— Mmek (@mmekkkk) May 6, 2018
Ebiye is saying what most women have been told by men in almost every kind of setting in Nigeria. Professional or private.
As a woman, you didn't work for it. You must have fucked someone for it.
I'm more amused by the men shocked by it.
Welcome to our world, boys.

Not all men are scum, be guided
Send blame the right way. Drag Ebiye if you want to.
Don’t be an opportunist and use this avenue to carry #MenASkom placards and #AllMenAreShit posters.

It's really hard for women to make a name for themselves in the music business.
They will work hard & win awards, only for one washed up Instagram side attraction to say that they fucked someone to win an award.
Ebiye can fuck off with his shitty apology.

Ebiye should get out with his half assed apology. This isn't the first time he's making such a distasteful comment about women. Like it isn't hard enough for women in the Nigerian music industry to succeed. Trash

Ebiye the Comedian’s tasteless comments about Aramide’s The Headies award is unbecoming of a public figure, apology or not. You can’t make trash comments and then run and hide behind an apology. For me his comment is tantamount to defamation. It should come with consequences.

Bubu in London, again
On Monday this week, President Buhari gave Nigerians the itinerary for his proposed four-day medical trip to London.
I will be traveling to the United Kingdom tomorrow, to see my doctor, at his request. Will be away for four days; back in Abuja on Saturday, May 12.
— Muhammadu Buhari (@MBuhari) May 7, 2018
Peep the date on the letter below;
A secretary typed the letter;
Garba signed the letter;
Bashir posted the letter;
Yet nobody spotted the back to future date on it!!!

If you recall, last week, he made a "technical stopover" in London after his meeting with American President Donald Trump in Washington DC.
Here's how Nigerians reacted
Again?
https://twitter.com/UrbanCulture06/status/994171209414832128
So Buhari went to London, stayed for 10 days, went to the US, then on his way back to Nigeria, had a ‘technical stopover’ in London...stayed a couple of days..then returned to Nigeria for a few days but now wants to return to see his doctor in the London. 🙄

Then he said it was minor human frailties
Now we know he is very sick
As a patriot, he should be fighting to finish his tenure & not seeking re election.

Another reminder of the poor state of the Nigerian health sector
So ALL public health workers are on strike. It is a real crime to be poor in this country. 90% of Nigerians rely on these overwhelmed & underpaid public health personnel. The cost of their downing tools is incalculable. Buhari & his family can always go to England so....
— Babanla (@biolakazeem) May 10, 2018
That Buhari has the balls to announce to Nigerians he is traveling to London to see his doctors, is an insult to millions in various dysfunctional hospitals in Nigeria struggling and begging to get care. It is even more wicked at a time hospital workers are on strike!
— Jackson Ude (@jacksonpbn) May 9, 2018
While Buhari is enjoying his medical care in London, states and Local Govt health workers in Nigeria are about to join the national strike. This would further put the lives of rural dwellers in jeopardy.

IGP neglects the Senate's summon for the third time.
This Wedenesday, the Senate summoned Ibrahim Idris, Inspector General of Police (IGP) again to address the security situation in the North and Middle Belt regions of Nigeria as well as the Dino Melaye debacle. And for the third time in two weeks, the IGP ignored their invitation.

I like Osinbajo. And I’m pretty sure he has stepped on big toes with his reeling out the malfeasance of the previous administration. He must stay strong, the job he has signed up for is not for the weak

It is so surprising that you guys are making the same silly mistakes you made in 2015. Going after Osinbajo? And playing the religious card? You really think that is a winning strategy? #Kontinue

You got tired of criticising Buhari, it's Osinbajo the next victim, worse you're using religion. You've failed already.

You can't be bashing Osinbajo and supporting Atiku...It makes you look stupid!
