With the internet startup space as part of our core focus at Techpoint, we bring you the first edition of the Nigerian Startup Funding Report.

The Nigerian Startup Funding Report is a quarterly publication in the build-up to an annual report of the funding activities within the internet startup space in Nigeria.

The report, we believe, will be a point of reference to concerned stakeholders -- both foreign and local players -- for making informed decisions.

We collected the data used in the report in real-time and analysed it for easy understanding. Subsequent reports will include much more details, such as quarter-on-quarter analysis and the likes.

In the Q1 2018 funding report, a total of $9,241,196 was raised in one stage of funding or the other. The report further reveals that a higher percentage of that figure is from foreign investors, while grants make up almost 64% of the total number of deals.
