In a world where technology has created endless opportunities and possibilities, we have seen a rise in the adoption of technology in Nigeria. However, successful businesses shouldn't just  adopt new technologies, but rather build sustainable businesses that will outlive them. This is why we have put together Techpoint Build and we are so excited about it.

What has happened so far

We started planning Techpoint Build in July and later in October made our first post about it.

We took it a step further and reiterated why startups should participate for Pitch Storm, a major highlight of the event. Hundreds of startups pitched, but we scaled them down to 40 and esteemed judges from our selection committee picked the best 9.

Pitch Storm will see these 9 startups compete for 1,000,000 in equity-free cash to help push their business to the next level.

Finally, we asked awesome readers and friends of Techpoint who would love to volunteer for the Techpoint Build to come over. We were overwhelmed by the magnitude of interests received and those who showed up in less than a week. A sign that Techpoint Build will be lit!

3 days away from Techpoint Build, what to expect?

First, the 9 startups are currently gearing up for their 3-day bootcamp, starting today, as they prepare for Pitch Storm.

We have gotten the best panel sessions at Techpoint Build. Each panel session will break down the intricacies of doing business in Nigeria.

It is certain that you leave the venue with enough insight to move your business forward. Some of our speakers and panellists include; Jason Njoku, (CEO, iROKO), Kola Aina, (CEO, Emerging Platforms), Depankar Rustagi (CEO, Vconnect), Olumide Balogun (Business Lead, Nokia), Lola Cardoso (Head, Corporate Strategy & Innovation, Union Bank), Modupe Durosinmi- Etti (Developer Community Manager, Flutterwave).
