Developed by Godspower Otali and his team, Wetin Dey is a cloud-based messenger that allows users to send and receive multi-media messages. Basically, it operates just like WhatsApp but has several other features in a bid to boost its competitiveness.
Wetin Dey has the capacity to coordinate large group chats of up to 5000 members and an unlimited broadcast list at a time. It also has the functionality to seamlessly synchronise data and messages across multiple devices.
It’s proprietary cloud support services enables message histories to be stored on the cloud (for free), which supports the sharing of unlimited number of photos, large videos, audio files and documents (doc, pdf, xls exe, ppt, zip, mp3, mp4 etc.) of any type up to 1.5GB between users.
The app, which was launched on the 20th of March, 2015, has since garnered considerable downloads on the Google Play Store and Amazon App Store.
