DEMO Africa 2017 is here: Pitch to be selected for the grand event

The next edition of DEMO Africa Innovation Tour will be happening in Lagos this month. The annual tech demo and launch event connects African startups to the global ecosystem, including VCs, investors, tech acquisition specialists, IT buyers and media from across the region and around the globe. DEMO Africa 2017 is here.

Startups with innovative products in any of the underlisted areas are invited to come and pitch:

Banking and finance, agriculture, health, education, manufacturing, retail, media and entertainment, communication, transport and logistics, energy, water and sanitation, waste management and recycling.

After the pitch, a few selected Nigerian startups will get winning entries to the DEMO Africa 2017 event on the 6th -- 7th of September 2017 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

DEMO Africa is one of the flagship initiatives of LIONS@frica founded by the U.S. Department of State, in collaboration with Microsoft, DEMO, USAID, and Startup Weekend.

At the DEMO Africa 2016 innovation tour, two of the startups that pitched got selected to pitch at the final event in South Africa.

Overall, a total of 35 Nigerian startups (3 in 2012, 4 in 2013, 14 in 2014, 8 in 2015 and 6 in 2016) have pitched and exhibited their products at DEMO Africa event since inception.

DEMO African alumni have generated over $8 million in either investment, business or partnerships. Startups are invited to come pitch and stand the chance of being selected for this year's DEMO Africa 2017 grand final.
