I just received information that coincided with a request for the latest pitch event where startups can get money -- do not laugh, you need money too. Apparently, TechCircle is organizing a meetup on the 28th of June in Lagos. The TechCircle meetup is going to be attended by Hiro Mashita a Japanese angel investor who would be doing some actual investing on that day.
TechCircle is an organization created to manage the ecosystem activities and interests of Oo Nwoye, Co-Founder of Fonebase Labs.
Hiro Mashita is the Founder and Director of m&s partners Pte. Limited, a company that provides advisory services for finance, IPO, M&A, operations, marketing, business development and global business expansion. Even though Japanese, Hiro is actively involved in the Indian tech ecosystem and according to TechCircle was one of the biggest investors in the Indian startups last year.
There would be a pitch competition at the TechCircle meetup and the winning startup will go home with $2,500 courtesy of Hiro Mashita.
Apart from the pitch competition at the TechCircle meetup, Mr. Hiro and partner Taro would be actively looking to invest in startups with the following themes Mobile First, FinTech, Energy, Content and On Demand Platforms that are able to scale across Africa.
