The 2016 edition of the Microsoft Imagine Cup Nigeria is upon us and the categories for this year's competition are World Citizenship, Innovation and Games.
Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world's premier student technology competition. It is a place for students to come together and break new ground by solving tough problems facing the world today, even possibly turning those ideas into businesses.
The students are set up in competition against the brightest of their peers from around the world while learning new skills. They are encouraged to make new friends and build social networking skills. All these still comes attached with cash and prizes.
For entry into Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016, you and your team will make an original technology project from start to finish: come up with a great idea, make a plan, build your project, and submit it to Imagine Cup. It can be either purely software or a combination of software and hardware. To qualify, the technology needs to use either one or a combination of the following: Windows, Windows Phone, or Windows Azure.
The past editions have produced wonderful problem-solving products and innovations. Humane the virtual sensory software platform that allows visually impaired users to perform tasks on their smartphones which they can’t perform normally was birthed at the 2014 edition of the Microsoft Imagine Cup in Nigeria by students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
