Nigeria's former telecommunications giant, which was taken over by the NATCOM Consortium in April, is making a comeback with a planned roll out of services next month.

As ITWebAfrica reports, 4G LTE data-only services will launch first in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. However, "subsequent voice plans will be boosted with the commencement of the SAT-3 service whose 'Beach Manhole' relocation has been completed and will be launched as NITEL rolls out service".

Finally, the new company to be launched next month will be rebranded as NTEL. By all indications, this is awesome news for the industry.
