Following tweets and happenings on Twitter can be a challenge especially for the average user. In order to help veteran users and maybe attract new ones, as of today Twitter has launched a new feature called Moments which lets you know about the latest happenings on the social network at any given time.
Moments exist as a tab in the mobile app and Twitter or web. A simple tap on the icon and you will discover top stories as they unfold, regardless of who you follow. You can also swipe through different topics such as entertainment, sports etc. as the list is constantly updated.
As of today, Moments only works in the US on Android, iPhone, and the web. However, the company says "as with Tweets, a Moment can be shared anywhere: if you discover a link to a Moment in a Tweet or DM, or embedded elsewhere, those of you outside the US can enjoy the same experience we’re rolling out today." Twitter has promised that Moments will be available in more places "in the coming weeks and months".
For some time now there have been issues with the growth of the social network, hence the brought back original founder, Jack Dorsey to become interim CEO in June. Since the return of Jack Dorsey, Twitter has experienced a 57% increase in shares.
Only time will can tell if "Moments" can help the company increase its slowly growing userbase.
