A while back, we informed you about how Android Lollipop was in the pipeline for select Infinix Smartphones. Well, it’s finally here, albeit as a public non-OTA beta release.
The updates available are only for the Infinix Hot (surprise!), Infinix Hot Note and the Infinix Zero 2. This current release, which is ahead of the planned final release in August, is apparently for enthusiasts who can’t wait thill the August release and don’t mind tinkering with their smartphones.
Yes, there are no Over-The-Air updates, at least for now, so you will have to flash the update manually. There is no indication as to whether the final release in August will be available OTA, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.
If you have the stomach for manually flashing ROMs at the risk of bricking your smartphone, you can get the official ROMs over at the Infinix Mobility Forum using any of the links below:
I personally will be flashing our Infinix Zero 2 unit, as soon as I can get around to it. I will keep ypu posted on how it goes.
