The British Broadcasting Corporation has established collaboration with ZenoRadio to give Nigerians access to latest BBC news on their mobile phones. ZenoRadio connects audiences in diaspora with local radio stations in their home country via mobile phones.
BBC says this new service is available on all 132 million active mobile devices in Nigeria as an on-demand radio service available in either English or Hausa Language. Programs like “Newsday” and Focus on Africa” are streamed live and programs in Hausa are streamed live at 6:30a.m, 3p.m. and 8:30p.m Nigerian Time.
It is however not free as users have to dial (01)4405-222 to access the service at a normal call charge rate depending on the network and the tariff the user is on.
