By simply dialling  *737*0# on their Etisalat line, subscribers can open a basic GTB account. "Basic" because it comes with a couple of caveats.

  • Minimum savings period - 90 days with 3.9% interest rate per annum.

The GTEasySavers account requires a minimum balance of N1000. You can operate the account solely from your mobile phone, using preset USSD codes. GTEasySavers account holders are alos eligible to deposit and withdraw from any GTBank Branch or Etisalat Experience Centres. They can also purchase airtime directly through their mobile phones.

It appears GT Bank is now at the forefront of pushing innovative mobile money solutions, based solely off of USSD. In a market where internet based services are becoming more and more unreliable, USSD based services proffer a very welcome and efficient alternative.
