Weekends, especially when you're in your late teens and early twenties, are avenues to relax with buddies, go on dates or just relax. But at the same time, not over spending is key.
Kaku.com.ng is a discovery website that allows people locate amazing places where they can hang out with friends, family or loved ones based on their BUDGET and preferred location. Users can see, review and rate various places, and also share pictures and “selfies” of themselves and loved ones having fun at various places. Think Yelp or Foursquare for Africa.
Sometime in 2014, I was trying to find affordable places where I could hang out with a friend based on a limited budget; after getting referrals from a few friends, it dawned on me that there was really no centralized web service which offered quality information on fun places. I also discovered I wasn’t alone in this, with many of my friends also looking for places to hangout on birthdays, weekends and holidays. At that point, I realized word of mouth referrals were not enough and so in a bid to solve this problem, we decide to develop a solution that would address this need - Kayode Oyewole, C0-founder of kaku.com.ng.
Kaku.com.ng plans to cover places people like to frequent for food, dates or just basic relaxation across Africa. But for starters, the service currently has coverage in Lekki, VI, Ikeja, Surulere and Yaba in Lagos.
